The opera "Greek" is a contemporary retelling of the Oedipus myth based on the Berkoff play composed by Mark Anthony Turnage with text adapted by the composer and Moore which Jonathan directed in it's world premiere at Munich and ENO.
"A resounding, unanimous triumph... riveting total theatre."
The Sunday Times
Jonathan also co directed the royal Philharmonic Award-winning BBC Film. The stage version will be revived in a completely new production by Jonathan with a full orchestra at the cutting edge, vibrant Grimeborn Festival at one of the most exciting theatres in Britain, The Arcola.
After the subsequent worldwide success of this opera, now hailed as "a modern classic" (Fergus Linehan, Director of the Edinburgh International Festival) and regularly performed at major opera houses around the world, Jonathan is excited to be reviving it in the East End of London, where it is set.
